I moved to Drumheller when I was 15. Due to lack of employment in BC, my father had found steady work here. So, In October of 1985, we packed up and headed to AB, I literally cried the whole way. I proceeded to graduate from DCHS, now known as DVSS, in 1988. At 17 I started working for a grocery store called Allwest, it was there that I had taken an interest in General Bookkeeping, but also my passion for interaction with the public flourished. It was during these years, my love for the Drumheller Valley was born.

For most of my younger years in Drumheller, I floundered working in retail and sales, generally anything working with the public, but with no sense of direction. In 2002 that all changed when my daughter, Brianna, was born. She was the nudge I needed to become more focused and career driven. From 2004-2006 I decided to go back to school and do some upgrading, courses including Bookkeeping, and Basic Accounting. Those courses enabled me to work my way up from server at a local restaurant, to Assistant GM, but that type of work was very trying when living out of town, and being a single parent.

Taking some time away from work late in 2011 and early 2012, I had taken steps to return to College and pursue an Accounting degree. Those plans were set aside when I received and interview for a Medical Office Assistant position. Within the first year of taking the position, was when I realized it was where I wanted to be, I had found my niche’, so to speak. In 5 years I had assisted in opening two successful Doctors practices, one of which is our very own Dr. Rithesh Ram. And in 2015 I received the Drumheller Rotary Clubs, Award of Excellence for “Most Courteous Employee”, and can only hope I am, and in the future, living up to those expectations.

Now, I look forward to embarking on a new and exciting journey with Riverside Medical. My priority has always been the patient, and I believe they will receive the utmost care at our new facility.
